Moores Hat Factory

MOORE'S HAT FACTORY - DENTON

As part of Manchester University Archaeology Unit's study of the hatting industry in the east of the Manchester area STAG assisted with much of the survey and drawing of Moore's Hat Factory Denton.

Some of the results of this survey are published here to supplement the book UMAU produced on this topic.

Of particular interest visually was the Office Block which was the last phase of development of the hat factory added in the early 1900's. This is also shown in plan in the ground floor and first floor plans of the east end of the factory.
