COPPICE FARM BARN
STAG assisted the Manchester University Archaeology Unit's (MUAU) survey of this cruck-frame barn at Coppice Farm, Ashley, by surveying the exterior of the building and some of the interior. STAG then produced plan and elevation drawings together with details of one of the cruck frames. MUAU has produced a detailed report on the building under the title "Coppice Farm Barn, Ashley, Macclesfield. Part 8 of the Archaeology of the Cruck Truss in the Mersey Basin". This presentation is summarised from that report augmented with observations from the STAG survey.
