Situated within 2 miles of junction 24 of the M1 and conveniently placed for both East Midlands Airport and Castle Donington racetrack, the Britannia Inn offers real ales, good food and live entertainment. There is ample car parking space, a beer garden to the rear including a smoking area and free wi-fi. Children are welcome and there are discounts available for both students and old age pensioners.
Amongst the real ales on offer are Abbots, Old Speckled Hen, IPA, Kimberley, Ruddles, IPA Smoothe and Hardy & Hansons dark mild. We also sell lagers such as McEwans and Carling. For those more attuned to the grape rather than the hop we stock a selection of fine house wines.
The Brit is proud to describe itself as a Traditional British Pub and provides facilities for playing darts, dominoes and cards as well as holding quiz nights and numerous charity events throughout the year. It also runs an ongoing yard of ale competition. Although we do not offer accomodation we are very close to a number of establishments that do provide a wide range of accomodation.
Being uniquely situated at the heart of the East Midlands, the Brit's customers are diverse in their support of the national game, proffering their allegiance to Derby County, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest and Notts County.
The Britannia is also home of the Chicken Teddy fanzone. Here you can find all the latest news regarding the exploits of Chicken Teddy, the newest addition to the celebrity A list.
