Creating
a wildflower meadow is an exciting alternative to an ordinary lawn. Wild
grasses, native spring bulbs, oxeye daisies, meadow cranesbill, red campion
and other native wild flowers can be grown with little maintenance. Normally
only one cut is required each year to allow naturalised spring bulbs and
fresh new growth to come through. The edges of the meadow can be kept
neat, adding definition and order to the chaotic mass of colour created
by the wild flowers. This is an ideal solution for those who have large
lawn areas who are wild at heart and don't want to have a large lawn to
mow each week, but they can look great in small gardens too!
