Built by the Kaiser Jeep Corporation, it is a
dropside, multifuel general covered cargo truck with fold down bench troop seats in the rear. The engine is a 5500cc turbocharged unit derived from an MAN unit but it has no silencing on the exhaust stack and the turbo whistles straight out of the tube which gives a very distinct (lovable??) sound.
I had some troubles with birds nesting in the nicely sheltered engine bay as you can see from these pictures.
The nest in the first picture was cleared out entirely and the second picture taken just TWO days later !
Those little birdies really are industrious.
