On this page you will find photographs from the Family that have not yet been identified. Please take a look at them and let me know your thoughts. Some of these photos are in quite a poor state and I will show the restoration I have been able to achieve To see a larger picture click on any of the thumbnails then use your browser's back button to return to this page.
Original Restored This photograph was amongst those handed down to Mavis (Harris) Moore by her mother Beatrice (Appleton) Harris. It was in two halves and in need of considerable restoration. Is it Joseph & Martha? Are the girls at the back Martha and Elizabeth Ann? There was 12 years between their ages. If it is, then who are the boys? See if you can work it out and let me know your thoughts.
Original Restored This photograph was found with the one above and was in a similar situation. Both photographs are taken by G. W. Griffin & Son of St Helens, Lancashire. The dress appears to be the same one in both photographs, so is the lady?
Another photograph from the same source. Could this be Joseph Makinson son of James Makinson and Martha Appleton? Joseph is known to have played violin in Orchestras and for silent movies to supplement his income.
Another photograph of an unknown soldier. Do you know who he is?
And Who is this Smart Gent? Photo taken by G. H. Lares, 51 Bryn Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Lancashire
Can anybody help with this one?
Or this One?
Success StoryThe couple in this photograph have been identified by Lois Appleton of Taber, Alberta, Canada as her in-laws Albert Appleton and Annie Marsh. Lois had the second photograph in her possession in Canada. Note the same clothes although different photographer.
