WEALD COUNTY SHOW
The show at Weald Country Park near Brentwood promised to be a big event, with entertainment ranging from medieval battles to the lumberjack display team, fun fairs, classic cars, vintage tractors and children’s activities. This show was a first for us as the previous 3 years we have gone to Knebworth Fathers Day Classic Car Show. The views from Weald Country Park were as good as Knebworth, a lovely setting for any day out.
On the Friday we had 10 members camping with a varied assortment of VW’s, we also had members arriving on both days that didn’t camp. The weather was good all weekend and our club stand was next to the Medieval camp with their members dressed in period clothing. There was a large display from the Chelmer Valley Classic Car Club and a display of modern and vintage fire engines. There was also was a display from the Hertfordshire Lumberjack team in the small arena.
This was a good show with all the amenities, with added attraction of a beer tent and food vendors. All our members at the show agreed that this was a great show and one we will return to again next year. I was very pleased by the display that the club had, we had a wide variety of VW’s despite being called on their website “Essex VW Campervan Club”. Thanks to all members that came and did our club proud!
