“Camper Jam is Camper and Commercial magazine’s first annual show held in the picturesque settings of Weston Park, aimed at owners and lovers of the VW Bus in all its models and types. The show is designed to offer a chilled out, laid back weekend in a beautiful Parkland setting and to get back to what VW Show are all about – people and buses getting together for a relaxing weekend of friendship and fun.”

There was a full entertainment programme offering something a bit different with the chance to DJ your very own set (Stick It On), as well as a Family Disco and of course Druid’s Brew, the VW Bus Band, who were there to provide mellow tunes and the festival vibe. It was certainly a family orientated event with plenty for the kiddies to do such as colouring competition and design your own clothes. There was also a dog show, with many breeds wandering around Saturday, including a Westie dressed in a green tutu (don’t get any ideas Mum!).

The Show ‘n’ Shine was a little different with classes for the Splits, Bays, T25’s, T4’s and T5’s. Each class was then subdivided into Best Camper, Best Commercial and Best Modded / Custom. There were special displays including a display of Devon Campers to celebrate 50 years of the classic camper, a line-up of 4 very rare Commercial Hi-roof Splits and then stock and custom T4’s and T5’s.

The weather wasn’t particularly nice, with showers all day Saturday and 65 mph winds Sunday. There were lots of traders and craft stalls, with only a few auto-jumblers. Toilets were clean and there was plenty of food stalls to choose from. Overall, the show was very well organised and I can see it becoming very popular, especially with young families.
