3rd December. The wreath on the smokebox door was carried in memory of
two ELR signalmen who recently passed away.

On a
wet Saturday morning the 9F, Thomas and Leander are readied for the days
work. Leander had arrived by road transport the previous evening.

After
operating over the weekend of September 10/11th, 92214 was used for the
Footplate Experience day on September 12th. These photos were taken on
that day.
|

Having
just coupled up to the train the fireman carries the lamp back to the
cab. The afternoon participants are ready to go.
|

After arriving at
Ramsbottom platform 1 the loco is uncoupled from the train.
|
|
The crossing gates are opened, the
signal is pulled off and the run round commences.
|
|

box, the loco is signalled back through platform 1.
|

Reaching the points at the south end
of the station, 92214 again reverses and buffers up to the stock ready
for the trip back to Bury station.

Black
5 no. 45337 leaves Buckley Wells shed to begin it's last weekend in
service before the boiler certificate runs out on 4th August.

92214 with 8 coach train arrive from
Heywood and will pass through platform 2 and then reverse into platform
3 to set down passengers. Work currently underway on the pointwork/signaling
at the South end of Bury station should remove the need for this
manoeuvre in the near future.

Southern
Railway "Battle of Britain" class 'Tangmere' undergoes its
steam test at Buckley Wells shed. The loco subsequently hauled trains
during the weekend.
