92214 with 8 coach train arrive from Heywood and will pass through platform 2 and then reverse into platform 3 to set down passengers. Work currently underway on the pointwork/signaling at the South end of Bury station should remove the need for this manoeuvre in the near future. |

(Moved here 21st April) The 9F was brought into steam on the 10th/11th of April in order to carry out checks over the East Lancashire Railway's track at Bury. The "outer" (down line) curve at Bury South is not currently in use but on 11th April 2005, the ELR's permanent way engineers and the Chief Mechanical Engineer conducted tests with 92214 to assess the running of a 9F on their service trains. Due to the very high standard of the track no problems were experienced and 92214 was passed fit to run on both lines. The three photo's below were taken during the curve tests. |
