Saturday 15th April - Ipswich 1 Brighton 2

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor (Casement 37), Barron, Currie, Juan (Forster 60), Garvan, Richards, Lee, Haynes.
The first half saw Ipswich's efforts as mainly long-range against a capable keeper, while Brighton looked more dangerous on the break, particularly down their right flank. The first goal came from that flank when Kazim-Richards supplied Noel-Williams who turned Casement with ease and beat Supple just before half time. They increased their lead on 72 minutes when Lynch slotted home from close range after a corner scramble. Town pulled one back when Forster headed home finishing off Lee's headed flick.

Saturday 8th April - Ipswich 1 Stoke 4

Supple, Casement (Sito 46), Naylor, De Vos, Wilnis, Currie, Garvan (Magilton 54), Juan, Richards, Lee, Bowditch (Haynes 54).
Stoke seemed the livlier of th two sides, particularly in the second half and were deserved winners, though the scoreline is a little flattering. Stoke took the lead when a cross by Brammer was deflected by Wilnis into the goal. Town equalised moments later when Haynes seized on Juan's rebounded shot, scuffing the ball into the net. Bangoura restored Stoke's lead on 82 minutes and Haynes had a trip in the penalty box not given. Then goals by Chadwick and Russell finished off Town, who had seemed to stop playing.

Saturday 1st April - Luton 1 Ipswich 0

Supple, Sito (Haynes 85), Wilnis, De Vos, McEveley, Currie, Garvan, Juan, Richards (Bowditch 54), Lee, Naylor.
Naylor played up front with Lee, but Ipswich struggled to make any chances and Luton were the better side throughout. Shane Supple's performance kept Town in with a chance until the 81st minute when Howard rose unchallenged to head into the goal.

Supple, Sito, Wilnis, De Vos, Barron (Casement 78), Magilton (Haynes 75), Garvan, Richards, Westlake (McDonald 38), Lee, Currie.
Town outclassed the opposition in this game, but seriously overpassed, having only Lee upfront. They went ahead in the 23rd minute after a foul on Westlake, gave them a free kick, close to the left touchline. Currie's cross into the box from this free kick seemed to miss everyone and ended up in the back of the net. Ipswich continued their passing game into the second half, when a corner from Green allowed Cort a free header into Town's net. Macdonald and Lee both had good chances to win the game, but it was to stay 1-1.

Supple, Sito, De Vos, Wilnis, Barron (Casement 69), Magilton (Skard 85), Richards, Garvan, Currie, Fuller, Lee.

On 52 minutes, Palace when into the lead again, a Watson free kick finding Morrison to head into the net. Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron, Richards, Garvan, Juan (Westlake 27), Currie (Sito 15), Lee, Fuller (Haynes 56).
Town's fate was sealed when referee Ilderton sent off Richard Naylor in the 10th minute for minimal (if any) contact on Ormerod as the player lost control and fell. Oddly Town took the lead when De Vox headed in the accurate free kick of Garvan. Two goals from Nugent on 53 and 62 minutes, followed by another by on 71 minutes by Agyemang finished off the tired Town players.

Saturday 11th March - Ipswich 1 Millwall 1

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron (Sito 72), Juan, Richards (Haynes 54), Garvan, Westlake, Currie, Lee (Magilton 70).
Ipswich started well and when Whitbread cleared to Garvan at the edge of the area, his long range effort went into the net. It then looked for a short while that Town would hand out a thrashing as Millwall looked lost. Gradually thugh as the snow fell, Town seemed to lack the drive of Millwall, who were rewarded in the 85th minute, when a series of headers and scrambles finally ended up with Livermore heading in. Craig was sent off for a second yellow for time wasting on 90 minutes, but it was too late for Town.

Saturday 25th February - Ipswich 2 Leicester 0

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron, Richards, Westlake, Garvan, Currie, Fuller, Haynes (McDonald 65)
Leicester missed an early opportunity after which neither side made an impression in the first half. The second half brought a bit more play from Ipswich as Leicester closed them down. Loanee debutee Fuller managed to arrive unmarked to meet the corner, putting in with his head.

Supple, Sito, Wlnis, De Vos, Barron (Proudlock 49), Currie, Garvan, Westlake, Richards, McDonald (Peters 58, Magilton 74), Naylor. Supple, Sito, Wilnis (Magilton 50), De Vos, Barron, Richards, Juan, Westlake, Currie, Lee (McDonald 32), Naylor.

Just after 30 minutes, Lee pulled up with a hamstring injury. Ipswich took control , but it was not until 52nd minute that Macdonald nutmegged Otsember and curled a goal in off the post. With Wilnis also picking up an inury Town's crisis continues.

Saturday 11th February - Ipswich 2 Burnley 1

Supple, Wilnis, Naylor, De Vos, Barron, Westlake (Sito 46), Juan, Garvan, Richards, Currie, Lee.
The first half was dominated by Ipswich as Burnley and in particular their keeper seemed content with a draw. Burnley went ahead on the stroke of half time when Ricketts ran clear to put the ball past Supple. After the interval Town put Naylor up front and brought on Sito for Westlake. Alan Lee who worked tirelessly all game provided the equaliser. Curries ball from the left dropped at his feet and he fired into the net. The winner was provided when Lee was brought down in the box by Hyde. Thomas was sent off for dissent and his second yellow card. Richards converted the penalty.

Sunday 5th February - Norwich 1 Ipswich 2

Price, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron, Williams (Haynes 25,Sito 90), Garvan, Juan, Richards, Currie, Lee.

A good all round performance by Ipswich, who though started well, found themselves 1 down after 32 minutes, Johansson beat the offside trap and put the ball over Price's head to score. Five minutes later Town equalised when a Jimmy Juan free kick caught a deflection of the Norwich goal scorer to beat the keeper. Town had two penalties denied in the second half, both on Haynes, who was proving a handful for Norwich. The Town pressure finally bore fruit when Garvan found Lee who flicked on for Haynes to bundle bravely into the net.

Tuesday 31st January - Ipswich 1 Leeds 1

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron, Magilton (Currie 46), Westlake, Richards, Garvan, Haynes (Proudlock 67), Lee.

Ipswich turned in another impressive performance against a strong Leeds side. Town had more pace, but little space in the first half, but Currie replaced Magilton at halftime when the game started to open up. Richards sent Haynes on his way and he ran through to beat the keeper with style. He was close to a second, moments later when he hit the bar. A series of dubious corners at the end was Town's undoing. A push on De Vos by Hulse sent the Canadian sprawling to the floor, the ball hitting his hand on the way. Healy scored the hotly disputed penalty.

Saturday 21st January - Southampton 0 Ipswich 2 Scorer: Alan Lee (2)

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron, Juan, Garvan, Magilton (Westlake 62), Williams (Richards 22), Currie, Lee.

Saturday 14th January - Ipswich 1 Sheffield United 1

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron (Sito 86), Juan, Garvan (Magilton 83), Williams, Westlake (Haynes 54), Currie, Lee.
Alan Lee made his debut for Town almost as a lone striker, with Currie giving a little support. No goals at half time and it looked like United had just about shaded the play. Ipswich came out more determined in the second half and went ahead through a 54th minute Jimmy Juan free kick, after Haynes had been fouled. Town then had a period of onslaught which United somehow weathered, including a golden chance with Haynes firing wide after being one on one with the keeper. United equalised after Tonge put Webber through and he dribbled through Town's defence with ease. A good debut for Lee who shows much promise.

Saturday 7th January - Ipswich 0 Portsmouth 1

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Barron, Magilton (Sito 56), Richards (Garvan 56), Westlake (Juan 80), Williams, Haynes, Currie.

Ipswich played the better football and virtually dominated the game, leaving Portsmouth to attack on breakaways. A disappointing 15593 crowd saw an entertaining game which Williams should have made better but missed an easy chance firing high and wide. Portsmouth went into the lead in the 37th minute. Williams lost the ball to Silva who found the only Portsmouth British player Taylor, who put across a perfect cross for Silva to head in. Town faltered for a while, but resumed the attack after the break. A double substitution put Naylor up front and towards the end, De Vos joined him, but Ipswich failed to find the net.

Monday 2nd January - Stoke 2 Ipswich 2

Supple, Wilnis, Barron, De Vos, Collins, Magilton (Juan 71), Williams, Richards, Currie, Westlake, McDonald (Proudlock 88). Town opened the scoring in the 6th minute, with De Vos heading in Currie's corner. They went a deserved two - up after Currie crossed to Wilnis whose first shot was saved, but he scored on the rebound. Stoke hit back in the 27th minute, Collins slipped and Sidibe passed for Russell to score easily. Stoke now upped their game and in the second half Sidibe rose unmarked from a corner to head into the net. Despite being two nil up, Town were actually glad for a draw in the end.

Saturday 31st December - Ipswich 1 Luton 0

Supple, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Sito (Westlake 51, Garvan(Magilton 73), Juan, Richards, Bowditch (McDonald 60), Haynes, Currie.
Ipswich started the better of the two sides and it was only toward the end that Luton really started to pressure, as Ipswich sat back to defend. The goal came in the 69th minute, when a pinpoint pass from Currie found Westlake who rounded his marker and fired in from 10 yards. The bad news is that Town picked up injuries to Sito and Bowditch.

Wednesday 28th December - Hull 2 Ipswich 0

Monday 26th December - Ipswich 0 Crystal Palace 2

Price, Wilnis (Haynes 65) , De Vos, Naylor, Sito, Williams (McDonald 80), Westlake, Juan, Garvan, Currie, Forster.

Palace dominated from the start with Town having only Forster up front. They went ahead in the 14th minute with Macken scoring from close range from Johnson's Cross. No changes at half time, though it looked only a matter of time before a Palace player was sent off, as the yellow cards accumulated. Watford went two-up in the 61st minute, a great run through Town's midfield, followed by a long range shot from Hughes beating Price. This had followed aa appeal from Ipswich for penalty for handball. Haynes replaced Wilnis and made some good runs and crosses and McDonald had less of an impact when he replaced Williams. Macken was dismissed after clashing with Naylor and Watson was sent off for two yellow cards, in a match which wasn't dirty. Town failed to make use of the little time they had against nine men and you felt the ref would have had to send off two more to have any effect.

Saturday 17th December -Sheffield Wednesday 0 Ipswich 1

Price,Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, Sito, Williams, Magilton (Westlake 66), Juan, Bowditch (Richards 65), Forster, Haynes (Currie 46).

A very unexciting game played by two poor teams on an even poorer pitch. Wednesday created quite a few chances which were either squandered by their strikers or saved by Price. Wilnis played as left back, right back, centre back and finally left back again as Joe Royle did his best to try and confuse him. At last a win though as Forster scored in the 87th minute, Williams's pass via De Vos, found Forster after a corner had been cleared. Forster then finished from close range, at last finding the net after 10 games.

Saturday 10th December - Ipswich 2 QPR 2

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, Wilnis, Currie, Williams (Magilton 69), Juan, Richards, Clarke (Westlake 46), Forster. Subs not used: Supple, Garvan.

QPR were lucky not to have Paul Furlong sent off after he appeared to deliberatly stamp on Price's head. More opened the scoring after a period of Town pressure, heading in Ainsworth's cross. Town equalised on 30 minutes, when De Vos headed in Currie's corner. On 41 minutes, Ainsworth helped restore QPR's lead by supplying the cross for Furlong to stab home. Naylor was pushed up front in the second half, with Westlake replacing Clarke. Town's next two subs, Magilton and Haynes secured a point in the 88th minute, the former supplyingthe cross for the 17 year old.

Saturday 3rd December - Ipswich 1 Wolves 1

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, Richards, Magilton (Horlock 52), Juan, Williams, Currie (Barron 87), Forster, Bowditch (Proudlock 52).

The first half was fairly even, with few chances for either side. Six minutes after the interval Wolves went ahead when Cameron hit a long range effort which deflected of De Vos and lobbed Price. Town responded with a period of pressure and when Forster run into the box was stopped with a Gyepes's tackle was judged by the referee to be unfair and a penalty was awarded. Richards took it well , though the goalie did his hands on it, the power took it to the back of the net. Wolves then pressured and only an incredible miss by Seol, from point blank range, allowed Town to finish with a point.

Monday 28th December - Cardiff 2 Ipswich 1

Price, Sito, De Vos, Wilnis, McEveley (Horlock 14), Williams, Magilton (Clarke 65,Currie 85), Juan, Richards, Forster, Naylor.

Town's fortune was decided by the referee when he chose to send off Wilnis after 12 minutes. Failing to give a foul on McEveley, he allowed play to go on and when Jerome lost control of the ball, he elected to dive in the area after minimum contact if any. Price saved the pathetic penalty by Ricketts. Ricketts made good though when scored on 30 minutes after Naylor gave the ball away. Town actually dominated the first half despite having only 10 men and McEevely subbed. Cardiff came more into the game in the second half and Lewis Price made a string of saves to keep Town in it. A foul on debutee Billy Clarke gave Town a free kick outside the area on 85 minutes, which Juan curled beautifully into the net. Town failed to hold on though as Koumas, who had a great game for Cardiff, beat players and fired from just inside the area into the net.

Tuesday 22nd November - Ipswich 0 Reading 3

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Williams, Juan (Westlake 59) , Richards, Horlock(Wilnis 34), Currie, Parkin (Forster 17)

Ipswich modelled their team to restrict Reading and paid the penalty for lack of initiative and class as Reading completely dominated the first half. It was 1-0 at half time with a goal by Sidwell, Town's only moment of brightness occurred when Naylor was put up front, but we still didn't manage a first-half, on-target shot. Though Ipswich tried a bit harder in the early stages of the second half, it was only a matter of times for Reading to score another with Lita and then Doyle adding a third to complete the misery. Parkin is out for weeks and Town are looking in serious need of inspiration.

Saturday 19th November - Coventry 1 Ipswich 1

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Magilton (Currie 61), Juan, Williams, Westlake (Richards 46), Parkin, Forster (Bowditch 78)

It was an entertaining game with both sides playing good football. Several attempts but no score at half time. Town broke the deadlock when Gavin Williams scored on his debut capitlising when the keeper failed to clear on 49 minutes. The lead was short lived though as Coventry hit back McSheffrey beating Price from outside the area. Both teams pushed for the win , but it was honours even.

Saturday 5th November - Ipswich 3 Plymouth 1

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Currie, Horlock, Juan, Richards, Parkin, Forster

Ipswich started quite well and were rewarded in 22 minutes when a Currie corner was cleared to McEvely who shot from the edge of the area. 31 minutes and Town went two up, when another Currie corner was flicked onto the bar by De Vos and then headed in by Juan. No changes at half time, but it was Plymouth who scored next from an excellently taken free kick by Buzsaky well outside the area. Town wrapped it all up when Forster was brought down for apenalty, which Richards converted.

Wednesday 2nd November - Derby 3 Ipswich 3

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, Wilnis (McEveley 59), McDonald (Currie 60), Magilton, Juan, Richards, Parkin, Bowditch (Proudlock)

Richard Naylor opened the scoring flicking the ball into the net from a Magilton free kick on 8 minutes. Ipswich then had the majority of the play, though leaving themselves open at the back. Derby equalised on 34 minutes also from a free kick, when Thome's header was scrambled in by Blackstock. Three minutes later Derby took the lead as Bisgaard's cross was headed home by Tudgay. Moments later Town equalised when Magilton's free kick was perfectly hit into the net. Second half presssure from Ipswich only lead to a goal on the break from Derby, Bisgaard taking advantage of a Wilnis slip to cross the ball to Blackstock who scored. However Town weren't finished and it came in the 41st minute with Richards heading home Currie's cross.

Saturday 29th October - Brighton 1 Ipswich 1

Price, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, Wilnis, Proudlock (McDonald 55), Richards (Magilton 31), Juan, Currie (McEveley 87), Bowditch, Parkin.

Brighton were playing well from the off and went ahead on 15 minutes, Hammond converting a Carole cross. Town's midfield were struggling and Royle brought on Magilton for Richards on 30 minutes. Parkin equalised for Town on 39 minutes, heading home a Wilnis cross from the left. Town had some chances in the second half and were playing better than Brighton, but a draw was probably a fair result.

Saturday 22nd October - Ipswich 0 Watford 1

Supple, Sito, De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Magilton (Parkin 57), Juan, Richards, Currie, Forster, Proudlock (Bowditch 57). Subs not used: Price, Wilnis, McDonald. Booked: Naylor.

A bit of a lack-lustre performance in the first half from both sides. Despite getting into some good positions, Ipswich failed to test the Watford keeper while Supple was called upon to pull off some good saves. Watford went ahead on 55 minutes, Supple saved Devlin's header, pushing the ball against the bar, the ball falling fortuitously to oung who made no mistake from close range. Town responded with a double substitution minutes later, Parkin and Bowditch replacing Proudlock and Magilton. Watford had a goal disallowed for pushing and Ipswich with three up front, failed to put in an on-target shot all afternoon.

Tuesday 18th October - Ipswich 2 Coventry 2

Price, De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Sito, Richards,Garvan, Horlock, Currie, Proudlock, Forster.
Coventry started the better, but Ipswich came more into the game as the half progressed. Garvan was tackled badly from behind, no yellow card but the youngster left the ground on crutches, replaced by Juan. Town's first came when they were awarded a free kick, well outside the area. As players zig-zagged in the box, Currie's shot floated untouched into the net. Ipswich went two up a horlock free-kick was headed well in by Jimmy Juan. Ipswich then threatened to run away with the game as Coventry sat back and defended. However a succession of injury-time corners allowed an unmarked McSheffrey a clear shot on goal. At half time Horlock was replaced with Parkin, having picked up a rib injury. Coventry equalised when Nalis netted Adebola's header from close range. Town should have taken the lead when Forster's effort appeared to cross the line, but the linesman claimed it had not, though video and Coventry players agreed otherwise after the game.

Sunday 16th October - Reading 2 Ipswich 0

Price, Wilnis, De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Sito, Magilton, Horlock, Currie, Parkin, Forster.
Town had an early scare when De Vos lost posession and chased back, Doyle took a tumble and De Vos escaped with a yellow card. Reading went ahead when Convey disposessed Wilnis and crossed the ball in, a stretching Naylor put the ball into his own net, though if he hadn't Lita was waiting. eading dominated much of the first half with Wilnis and McEveley constantly giving the ball away. Forster netted from a long throw, but had handled in his control. Royle brought on Proudlock at half time for De Vos. But two minutes later McEveley gave the ball away to Little, whose cross found the head of Doyle giving Price no chance. arkin missed a clear header on goal minutes later, but headed over the empty net. Though Ipswich tried to rally, it was Reading who looked more likely to score, being stronger in all departments.

Saturday 1st October - Ipswich 2 Crewe 1.

Wednesday 28th September - Burnley 3 Ipswich 0

Saturday 24th September - Leeds 0 Ipswich 2

Sunday 18th September - Ipswich 0 Norwich 1

Tuesday 13th September - Ipswich 2 Southampton 2

Price, Wilnis (Richards 45), De Vos, Naylor, McEveley, Peters (Juan 53), Garvan (McDonald 76), Horlock, Currie, Parkin, Bowditch. Subs not used: Magilton, Supple. Booked: Garvan, Horlock.
Five minutes into the game, Southampton were awarded a corner, when all the lights went out. It took 45 minutes before play resumed and Ipswich gradually got into the game against a strong Southampton side. 30 minutes in and Town took the lead when Naylor powerfully headed a corner in.An injured Wilnis was replaced just before half time by Richards. Saints responded very shortly after the restart with Powell heading a corner into the Ipswich net. A Currie corner was cleared to Garvan who scored his first senior goal from the edge of the area with a low shot. Ipswich struggled to hold on to the lead with a succession of Southampton corners. Wise floored Garvan off the ball, which the referee failed to spot, he later popped up to score from Oakley's cross. Another case of a goal scored by a player who shouldn't be on the field. At the end both sides seemed satisfied with the point.

Saturday 10th September - Sheffield Utd 2 Ipswich 0

Price, Sito, Naylor, De Vos, McEveley, Peters, Magilton, Currie, Horlock, Parkin, Bowditch (McDonald 65). Subs not used: Wilnis, Supple, Richards, Garvan. Sent-off: Sito. Booked: Naylor, Horlock, Price. A goal in each half for Kabba sealed the points for United. Though Ipswich had plenty of posession, they rarely threatened. Denied a penalty in the first half, a trip on Sito gave Town the opportunity to draw level when a penalty was awarded, but Currie's soft effort was easily saved by the United keeper. Having Sito sent off for 2 yellow cards, allowed United to score at the end when Town were stretched, trying to attack.

Monday 29th August - Ipswich 0 Preston 4

Price, Sito, Wilnis, Collins, Richards, Magilton (Juan 51), Horlock (McDonald 39), Currie, Westlake, Garvan (Peters 51), Parkin. Subs not used: Supple, Bowditch. Ipswich started brightly enough, with Currie and Sito looking particularly dangerous. Magilton had a fine shot saved and Nugent was lucky not to be sent off after a deliberate foul on Sito. On the half hour, Ipswich were to regret this more when Nugent broke through to score. He made it two after two minutes more, leaving Richards and Magilton in his wake. Ipswich tried to rally, but the lone striker Parkin was winning nothing up front, Macdonald joining him just before the interval, with Horlock making way. Preston made it three on the stroke of halftime, with Jones exchanging passes with Dichio and then scoring. Ipswich tried hard, but seemed to lack a bit of fight, though Juan and Peters came on for Magilton and Garvan. Preston wrapped it all up with a fourth as Collins was out-muscled by Agyemang, who powered his way clear and beat the keeper.

Saturday 27th August - Millwall 1 Ipswich 2

Price, Sito, Naylor, Wilnis, Richards, Currie (Juan 90), Garvan (Collins 76), Horlock, Magilton (McDonald 71, Westlake, Parkin. Subs not used: Supple, Peters. Sent-off: Naylor. Booked: Horlock, Wilnis. Ipswich looked impressive throughout this game. Currie put town ahead on 13 minutes after a mistake by former Town keeper Marshall, Magilton supplied the pass. May scored a fine goal on 60 minutes. Naylor was sent off for a professional foul, though the club have appealed. Parkin supplied the winner, heading home with his injured head after Currie worked his way through the defence.

Tuesday 23rd August - Ipswich 0 Yeovil 2

Price,Sito, Richards, Naylor, Collins, Juan, Horlock,Currie,Peters,Mcdonald & Bowditch.
Though Ipswich had their share of possession, it was Yeovil who looked the more threatening, winning several corners. Just before halftime, they managed to convert one of these through Way. Wilnis, Garvan and Westlake replaced Peters, Juan and Currie, with Naylor moving up front. Town looked a bit more capable, but still failed to penetrate. Yeovil scored on a breakaway to wrap things up when Gall broke through, Collins raced back and got a bit of a tackle on him, but he managed to retain the ball and beat Price. Out of the League cup go Ipswich.

Saturday 20th August - Ipswich 2 Sheffield Wednesday 1

Supple,Sito, Richards, Naylor, Wilnis, Westlake, Magilton,Currie,Garvan,Mcdonald & Bowditch.
From the start Ipswich looked the livlier side and soon took command of the game. They took an early lead from a Currie corner, which was played by Magilton to Naylor's head, who made no mistake. Mcdonald teased the Sheffield defenders, with a series of runs, while Naylor mopped up anything Wednesday had to offer. 1-0 at half time and no changes. Sheffield later brought on three substitutes one of whom was former Town man Diallo. Horlock replaced Magilton and helped play Sito in to provide a cross for Westlake to power into the net from the edge of the area. Peters replaced Currie and made an immediate impression, taking on the Owl's defenders. Wednesday got a goal back on 84 minutes, Peacock heading in a corner. Juan repolaved Garvan in the dying minutes of the game as Town held on for their win. An impressive performance from a very young Town side.

Saturday 13th August - Leicester 0 Ipswich 0

Price,Sito, Richards, Naylor, Wilnis, Westlake, Magilton,Horlock,Peters,Forster & Parkin.
Ipswich started on the backfoot, with the hesitant looking defence, somehow keeping Leicester out. Their problems looked compounded when Lewis Price was injured by De Vries. Supple made his debut and some fine saves, despite having the ball the kicked out of his hands on two occasions, presumably to unnerve him. Despite Town's defensive performance, the best chance fell to Forster in the first half who found himself one on one with the keeper who pushed him wide, making him hit the sidenet. A good result for Ipswich whose makeshift defence and lack of enterprise up front deserved no better.

Tuesday 9th August - QPR 2 Ipswich 1

Price,Sito, Fish, Naylor, Wilnis, Westlake, Magilton,Garvan,Currie,Forster & Parkin.
Town were forced to play Fish, though he was not fully fit and QPR had the best of the first half. The first goal came from a Doherty free kick, which was headed on by Furlong and Gallen turned and scored.Rangers second came in strange circumstances after Fish received a blow to head and was floored, Ainsworth chased and crossed after seeming to foul Wilnis, Rowlands netting. Two changes at half-time with Garvan raplaced by Horlock and Richards on for Fish, Wilnis playing as centre-back.Town started this half much better and scored when Parkin slid in to rob former Town player Santos, then curled the ball over the keeper into the net. Ipswich then continued to press with QPR breaking away from each attack. Despite chances for both sides and Jaime Peters impressing again after coming on as sub, the game finished 2-1.

Saturday 6th August - Ipswich 1 Cardiff 0

Price,Richards, De Vos, Naylor, Wilnis, Westlake, Magilton,Garvan,Currie,Forster & Parkin.
Not a classic match, but Cardiff seemed to start a bit better than Town who improved as the game went on. Owen Garvan impressed from the start, looking like a young Gerard, passing well and moving forward with the ball. Forster looked the livelier of the front two, though Parkin was working hard and combining well, both players missed fairly easy chances. 0-0 at half time and Town went in unchanged. A harsh booking for De Vos for a tackle in which he won the ball, hard but fair. Forster broke the deadlock in the 64th minute, latching on to Currie's free kick at the far post and netting from close range.  A nervous period with Town sitting back and hitting Cardiff on the break. Jaime Peters replaced Forster and the Canadian looked to have some good skills. De Vos had some treatment after being felled by Lee and Jimmy Juan replaced Magilton for the dying minutes. A great save by Price from Lee kept Town in the game and some good performances by the youngsters, gives promise for the future
