David Cooke's 65th Birthday Bash
David being David decided to hire the Maddermarket Theatre in Norwich for an evening, invite all his friends and acquaintances to attend at £10 each, and persuade those of his contacts who could perform to do so on the evening, to raise funds for the Lymphoma Association. In attendance were Melanie Burfitt, Chief Exec of the Lymphoma Association, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Norwich and many other distinguished guests. Everyone had a great time, and the event raised nearly £4,000 for the Lymphoma Association.
With the help of the golf club, and members of Blackfriars Rotary Club, we raised nearly £4,000. Our thanks to them, and all those who took part on the day.
David Cooke, our Honorary President and fundraising machine, raised some £530 on this annual walk, arranged by Gt Yarmouth Rotary Club.
The Perry-Warnes family hosted a Barn Dance and Hog Roast at Pages Farm, Wood Dalling. The night was a huge success!! Local firms had kindly donated items to be auctioned which raised £1,800 and a handmade collectors teddy bear was raffled raising another £450. The live band Boogie Fever was an enormous hit. The whole event made a grand total of over £5,000. Our thanks to the Perry-Warnes', all who assisted on the night, and those who attended and were so generous.
