The chinchilla cage and accessories must be disinfected regularly to prevent build up of bacteria, fungi and virus particles. On occasion it is necessary to do this due to some infection. There are numerous disinfectants available in your local supermarket, but are any of them suitable for use with small animals ? The answer, normally is NO. There are very few disinfectants that are not also toxic to your chinchilla, I've listed a few of them here along with suppliers.
