A large area of unimproved neutral grassland/ fen & upper saltmarsh with associated scrub & woodland communities situated on the Hampshire and West Sussex boundary alongside the River Eros.

The meadow was unmanaged at the time of survey so was becoming quite rank. It comprises dense and rank False Oat-grass, Nettle, and Greater Willowherb with Meadowsweet, Hemlock Water-dropwort, various sedges and other tall herb species.

It does, however, retain three old meadow indicators; Meadow Barley, Distant Sedge and Strawberry Clover, and various indicators of saline influenced communities, including the County Scarce Divided Sedge, within an area of Tall Fescue grassland and Upper Saltmarsh on the eastern side of the site.
