Dukeries 2007
The Dukeries Road Run Committee of 2006 would like to thank very much all those who supported the Dukeries Road Run of 2006. The generosity of all those that took part in not only supporting the run, but buying both raffle tickets and photographs allowed the Notts Area MGOC to donate £1000 to prostate cancer charities. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day and beautiful scenery which resulted in 97 cars turning out on a very successful and hopefully an enjoyable event. All of this would not have been possible with out the support of the classic car enthusiasts who participated. ‘THANK YOU’
For 2007 we have a new committee and some additional volunteer’s (they never learn) to help organise this years event. The event is to start from the same venue as last year, The Little John Inn at Ravenshead, and will run around 80 to 85 miles through the Notts & Derbyshire countryside to finish at the outstanding Elizabethan Hardwick Hall. Refreshments will be available at both the start & halfway halt which are included with the entry fee and as per last year, our hosts at the start venue will be selling bacon cobs for those who want something hot to start the event. Our departure times this year are a little later with the first cars away at 9.00am. Any participants requiring a particular departure time or who are traveling with a group of friends can be accommodated, just please advise us at the time of application

Media quick facts
Will the number of people affected increase in the future?
The Alzheimer's Society believe that over the next 25 years there is likely to be a steady rather than a dramatic increase in the number of people with dementia.
The Dementia UK report (2007) estimates that in less than 20 years nearly a million people will be living with dementia. This will soar to 1.7 million people by 2050.
