My names Tony and i've been fishing for carp and pike over the last 4 years,my P.B's are a 33lb mirror and a 20.7lb pike. My favourite carp venues have to be "Monument fisheries" and "Lakemore fisheries" because both of them are perfectley set up for the specimen angler, great pegs, ammenities and fantastic stocks of big fish. Most of my pike fishing is done in and around the Bolton area, there's some cracking pike to found in a lot of the Bolton waters and i've found that they like nothing better than a fresh sardine. As for carp baits,i'm a great believer in artificials these days, combined with pva bags and spod mix ive had some great catches over the last 18 months. My target for this coming year will be to join Sale Waterpark and spend as much time as possible trying to get myself a big catfish.I've been doing my homework on them over the winter and feel i'm ready to target them this spring...... here's hoping
My Name is Damien(Omen) I'm 25 years of age and have been fishing for two years. I love fishing for carp in the summer and Pike in the winter. I'm also partial to the odd course fishing session as well. My PBS are carp 21lb4oz and Pike 15lb. The venues i most like fishing well there are a few i like so i cant really put my finger on it. My favorite baits are,for carp i like artificial sweetcorn and home made Boilies. And for Pike i use a number of different dead baits Lamprey Roach and Sardine. I'm hoping to target a few different fish this year and try some different approaches.
Hi my name is Lee (guru) and im a carp fisherman although in winter i target pike.Im 44 and live in Bolton.I have been fishing since i was 10 on and off with a break of about 9 years when the kids were young but for the last 4years i have been fishing as much as i can.My pb carp is only 14lb10oz and my pb pike is 15lb but i intend to better them this year(how many times have i said that lol). my favourite place to fish is where ever i catch but i do enjoy a overnight session bivvied up on any nice water whether i catch or not.Im hoping to have a session on the monument this year so with a bit of luck the pb will be shattered. My favourite bait would be worms or sweet corn but this year i intend trying a few diffrent baits. My tip would be stay warm and dry and you will enjoy every days fishing.
Hi there, i'm Neil (neilpeel71). I caught my first little perch at the Clayhole in Hindley Green way back in 1978 and have been fishing ever since. I'd consider myself a keen all-rounder and do a bit of sea fishing and a lot of coarse fishing! I'm not a serious carp angler and my display on the 2008 BreakingSurface Carp Match proved I am no commercial master/match angler, but i've had some great catches doing day/short evening sessions on cheap local club waters/ local rivers. In the last couple of years i've done a couple of foreign fishing holidays and will probably be going again next year Whether you are a serious carper or an occasional angler you will find the forum a wealth of information.. feel free to PM me for fishing advice.
My name is Richard (MadeinBolton) i'm 32 and have been fishing since I was about 8. I've tried my hand at match and carp fishing over the years but have now got back to where I started, just catching (hopefully) whatever is infront of me. I love fishing on running water, I don't mind if its trotting for small chub and trout on local streams or throwing 6oz leads into a flooded river Ribble, if it's moving I'm happy. I also like fishing big lakes and resevoirs weather for bream, roach, pike or carp. In my spare time I fish commercials. My advice would be: Enjoy your fishing and don't be driven by targets. Get out there, catch fish and enjoy catching them.
I have many favourite venues but i think my top 2 would be Clivigers nr Burnly on the Todmorden permit and Bradshaw Hall fisheries From aprox March-November i fish at least 3 times a week, weather permitting, If i could only use 1 bait it would be hookable halibutt pellets Ive been fishing since i was about 14 My personal best was a 17lb ish common carp when i was 18 caught on the Newton le willows canal.Peg 76 on a float, 3 maggots and about 5 foot out!Just goes to show ;D If i could give just one tip it would be to always try something new everytime you go out. Even if just for an hour you never know, you might stumble across a killer personalised rig My favourite picture is probably the ghost carp in my avatar Im 32 and live in Bolton. This year i will be travelling around England and fishing new waters and hopefully hitting a 20lber ;)
My names Craig(Tincaman)Ii`m 37 yrs old and have been Fishing for over 20 yrs. Most of my Angling takes place in and around Bolton and Lancashire. The species that i tend to target the most during my sessions is the Tench.I also fish a lot of commercials including Church Gardens and Bradshaw's.My biggest Tench so far is 9lb 1oz caught from my local water Mertons in Bolton. One of my all time favorite baits to catch Tench is the good old fashioned Lob Worm, although i do use all the other commonly used baits corn, bread, maggot and small boillies as well as other natural baits. Usually my Tench fishing is done on the float, but occasionally like to get the swim and method feeders out and try my luck that way.One of my targets for this year is to net myself a 10lb Tench, which would give me a great sense of achievement as i`ve been fishing for them for over 10 yrs. Tip.Don't be a lazy Angler,if its not working, try a different approach
