Lost Treasure Patch Instructions, This will only work on the ejagfest broken version

The creator of this cd when it was first created for e-jagfest 06 unfortunately didn't do a very good job of testing it with commercial jaguars and when it was finally came into existence it only worked on a select few retail jaguars.

A boot cd was created to allow normal jaguar owners to boot the game, unfortunately this was impractical due to swapping the cds over each time you wanted to boot a new game / demo

This patch will make adjustments to the broken version (e-jagfest) to make it the same as the standard version which works.

This patch will do the following:

Extract the tracks from the broken cd
convert these extracted wave files into raw binaries capable of being re-burnt to a cd
patch these raw binaries so they work with PPF (Playstation Patch File) files
burn another cd with the good binaries

if you know that cdrecord works on your computer skip this step, if your computer does not or you are unsure download the required aspi driver here.
if you needed to download this driver you need to install it, simply run the 'aspi32.exe' file from within the archive, when prompted click yes to install then reboot when asked.

download the Lost Treasures pach from here.
Extract this rar file to 'c:\' the archive has a folder within it called 'LTFix', so you should have c:\LTFix when extractd

download and install isobuster onto your computer from here.

load isobuster up and select from the list on the top left your cd drive where you lost treasures e-jagfest edition resides.  for this guide i will be using the pioneer

in isobuster select the second session of the Lost treasures CD

select all tracks on the right

right click on the selected area and select 'Extract Objects'

extract the files to 'C:\LTFix'

you will then have to wait a minute or so for the files to be extracted

close isobuster

open up 'C:\LTFix' and double click fix.bat

The batchfile will start by converting the wave files into raw tracks that can be used to burn a cd with.
This section of the batch file does the following:

the batch file will then ask you to get ready to find the device id  and will display an example of what to look for, after a key is pressed the device list will be displayed

after you have found the correct drive that you want to burn the new cd from press any key to edit the burn.bat file, the batchfile will pause until you close notepad (be sure to save your changes)

be sure to read the text in the notepad screen some of it is useful information, like the part that points to what bits to edit

after you have edited the batch file for your writer, in my case i would change the 0,0,0 on both lines to 0,1,0 as i am using the pioneer you need to save and close.  once this is done the batch file will continue.

press any key to start burning the cd, make sure a blank cd is in the drive and it has had time to initialise properly before pressing a key to continue.

you should now have a working cd.

Problems

It has been brought to my attention that some of you are having problems with this. so i have made some recovery files that might be useful.

The recovery file here is a set of parity files created with quickpar which you will need to have installed to use these files.

What to do:

  1. Download and install quickpar from here
  2. Make sure you have your converted raw files in C:\LTFix
  3. Extract the par2 files from within the archive to C:\LTFix
  4. Double click on the 'LTFix.par2' file, quickpar should now run and check all the raw files to make sure they are correct.
  5. If necessary click repair to update any files that need to be repaired, this will take only a short time. If your files are already correct, it will tell you that a repair is not needed.
  6. Once you have verified that all your files are correct you may double click the 'burn.bat' to burn the Lost Treasures CD

Are you still having problems?

If you still cannot make it work, it is most likely a hardware problem on your part. unfortunately i cannot cater for hardware that cannot burn a correct jaguar cd.

I have had some problems myself with regards to this matter, on some occasions my 'Plextor 12/10/32 A' drive will not burn a track correctly so consequently the encryption check fails and the cd will not boot itself.  the only advice i have for you in this case is produce this patch on another computer with a different cd / dvd writer than the one you are having problems with.  or select another writer that you may have in your computer from the device id list in the main tutorial.

Extra Note: "Pioneer 111D" appears to work fine.
