In 1998 the London branch of the Hungarian Reformed Church established a school to teach children of mixed marriages to speak, read and write in Hungarian and to help parents pass on their Hungarian culture to the next generation.
The school started under the leadership of Mrs. Christina Korda, who had qualified as a teacher in her native Hungary. Christina later returned to Transylvania, but her work continues with the help of freshly qualified, young Hungarian teachers. The continuing enthusiasm of these teachers has made it possible for many children and adults to keep the Hungarian language and its rich traditions alive, and provide the students with the benefit of a bicultural environment.
