About Judicael Strings

Judicael Strings is run by Bob Jiggins -
an ex-university Lecturer in Sociology with
particular interests in the politics of former
Yugoslavia. Since having changed career I
have trained at Leeds College of Music as
a violin and guitar maker . I 've been playing
the violin since the age of eight and was
a cathedral chorister - although I no longer
sing. As an amateur musician I play in the
Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra and spend
some time playing with computer midi systems....
badly... my compositional skills are dire
In general Judicael Strings is myself - although
other members of the family provide varying
levels of help and hindrance... my wife is
a never-ending source of ideas and inspiration
and is very good at admin (as befits an ex-university
administrator) - I'm not... she's also extremely
good at design and knows a great deal about
Fair Trade and international political economy. The
children merely grunt (normally) but can
be persuaded into action if needed - the
cat (Sophie - it's male - don't ask) is useless,
the hamster (Badger) even worse - yet the
dog (Dogma - for those who've read the Asterix
books is short for ...
guess) is extremely good at preparing bone for
guitar nuts and saddles. Given the choice
between best bone from organically reared
cattle in Ireland and Corian - there's no
contest...
