The traditional signwriting of Narrowboats enables Andy to create flamboyant, brightly coloured lettering combining blended shadows and drop shadow techniques, with Narrowboats being one of the few remaining subjects to which hand lettering lends itself successfully.

Every boat name is different and certain letter styles suit certain names.  Andy utilises many varied layouts using intricate scroll work to compliment the hand lettering and produce a balanced, even boat that is pleasing to the eye.

Pictorials such as birds can feature as an additional eye catcher below a boat name where appropriate.
