Help Wanted
As you may be aware our community centre is manned and maintained by volunteers from within the members of our Community. We are very grateful to these people for the commitment and time they have given in carrying out these duties. These days we are all very busy and time is precious, however we would be grateful to those of you who can....
...Spare 3 to 4 hours a month....
in helping us maintain and man our Centre for the coming years bookings. The major duties are opening the Centre, during the normal week, taking hall bookings, opening the Centre for weddings and functions. These tasks are varied and interesting, please forward your names to the Secretary, together we can be strong.
Prathna Hall Policy
The Prathna Hall is available for
hire by members of our samaj and non-members on following conditions:
1.
It is used for 'Subh' occasions ad activity only. (Death is regarded as
Asubh occasion and as such it is not available for Barnu/Termu's rites and
Prasadi / dinner)
2.
For Barnu/Termu's rites and Prasadi/dinner the half of the Main Hall will
be made available- if it is not on hire or there is no Samaj activity taking
place, to member of the Samaj free of charge.
3.
It is used for Hindu religious rites such as Puja, Katha, Satsang, Bhajan
etc. and Hindu religious studies and lectures.
4.
Religious activity may be followed by light Prasadi but not by full
dinner. For dinner, the main hall must be hired if it is available.
5.
Only vegetarian food (as defined by Hindus) and soft drinks are to be
used.
6.
Shoes or any other type of footwear must not be worn in the hall.
7.
Only ten car-parking places will be available unless there is no function
in the main hall during the whole of the hire period.
8.
Members of the Association will not be charged for the use of the
facilities- however, the association will accept any donation the member/s
wishes to give.
9.
Non members have to pay the current hire charges, any concession in hire
charges will be at the discretion of the Executive Committee only.
10.
Prathna hall is a religious place and as such the Hirer and Hirer's guest
must observe cleanliness, good behaviour and sanctity of the place.
11.
It is not available for Dinner only. For this purpose, the main hall must
be hired.
12.
The hiring must be confirmed with the hall hire committee.
13.
All complains must be made in writing to the Honorary Secretary within
ten working days after the day of hire. No complaint will be entertained after
this period.
