Having
spent several years helping friends on a smallholding, I decided to
take on a more serious involvement which led to the completion of a
Smallholders course and a short tractor driving course, at Coleg Gwent,
Usk campus.
I
have gained experience working on the college farm as a volunteer,
since
May 1998.
I
worked mainly with the shepherd, being involved in all aspects of sheep
management, but have gained some experience looking after
cattle
and calves also.
My
time at the farm enabled me to successfully complete an NVQ level 2 in
Livestock Production during my 'work experience' there.
