     Sedona, Arizona a small but swiftly expanding town set in a glorious natural amphitheater of red rock formations. An extraordinary area and a magnificent setting to delight the eye and lift the spirits. As a bonus one of the most beautiful stretches of road in America winds its way through Oak Creek Canyon towards Sedona itself. A journey of red rock peaks, avenues of trees and dappled sunlight glinting on the waters of the creek. Cars stopped roadside for photo opportunities are a guarantee so take care. All the approach roads to Sedona afford the visitor spectacular views. From the 89 west. .outstanding: from the 179. .outstanding: from the 89north. . you guessed it !  Its a town of art galleries, souvenir and gift shops, with a sprinkling of specialist retail  outlets. Lodging :
Hotel/Motels and Bed & Breakfast in abundance though not the cheapest place to stay. Best Western, Days Inn, Super8, and the like are easily found. There are smaller less costly motels in Sedona but if you are on a tight budget stay back in Flagstaff or further on down in Cottonwood, its always a pleasant drive to get there anyway.
Food :
Plenty of restaurants, cafes in and out of town plus good supermarkets such as Bashas and Safeway, you wont go hungry ! Recommendation on lodging etc will appear at a later date.

Parking:
Cars may park along the main street through the town for limited periods, designated car parks are being established.

 

 

 

 

Sedona is a hiker/ trail walking paradise, wonderful tiny worn paths leading up through the red rock mesas and buttes, fantastic views over the town or country. Cathedral Rock, Devil's Bridge, Pumphouse Wash,
Secret Canyon, Little Horse Trail to name just a few. Flagstaff also has its share of beautiful trails, get           yourself a guide book and get yourselves out there. (recommended: click the image above).
