I had 3 aims for the 6th this year. Firstly to have fun, secondly to give anyone/everyone a game and thirdly to develop players, especially the youngsters. We were also trying to introduce the 456 squadron to encourage the social side of the club. He season started with a games night which went down well. Our first game and first points after Hertford couldn’t find a keeper and used JP. The 6th were top of the league, however our first game hope was cooled after our second game thrashing by Winchmore Hill. The season went well and soon we had our first clean sheet and then first goals and first win. Games on grass and games with ringers. Games in the cold and a game in the morning. Throughout it all you all kept your head up despite the loses, thrashings or last minute losers, and enjoyed yourself. Thank you for that, you all helped me when I had problems and hockey was the one thing that was still positive. This year I used 43 different players including 9 GK, 15 Colts and 19 players making their SHC debut. We wrapped the season showing a great performance against the 5th followed by a great curry night and fantastic Presidents day weekend. For me seasons highlights include Rob getting the first 6th team goal, the 19 new players to the club, our first league win and 2 of our colts getting into county teams.

The results of the 6th team votes were:

Most Improved –Kev Fisher, Junior of the year – Dan Phoenix, Player of the year - Geoff Trew (Ian Hamilton 2nd, Kev Fisher 3rd)

Have a great summer and see you all next year
