Acronyms and Abbreviations - A Simple Guide
You may have found, when you are having an Internet chat with someone, or maybe amongst your email, that there are certain expressions (acronyms) or abbreviations that look like shorthand, that you just do not understand.
I have included in this page, acronyms and abbreviations that I have come across in the past, in the hope that you may be able to interpret (or even add to!) parts of the conversation that you would have loved to know about but was too afraid to ask!
As I do not wish to offend anyone, if you dislike any aspect of this page, please inform me either by email or via my guestbook and I will remove the offending acronym as soon as I can.

Domain Name Each server has its own IP address . The domain name (eg. www.etc.co.uk) acts as a memorable substitute for the IP numbers
