BlackGem Books was set up in 1998 by two brothers. Ian who was the authority on the books offered for sale, and who sadly died two days before Christmas 2000, and myself (Peter) who is the author of this web site.

Almost all of the books and records now appearing on these pages are from the legacy of my brother's private collection.

It is my objective to continue with my brother's vision and develop BlackGem
to be a source of entertainment media that collectors can always rely on and feel satisfied that they have had value for money from a first class professional and knowledgeable service.

BlackGem Records is a brand new venture launched with nearly 250 titles providing a vast range of choice for record buffs looking for something from the fifties and sixties and no longer available from the store in the high street.

It is my aim to keep the web site fast and easy to use with no gimmicks or fair ground attractions. I hope you like the clean and straightforward presentation and will continue to visit BlackGem many more times in the future.
