The project started in March 2003 with a VIA ME6000 mini-ITX board mounted in a modified Technics CD player case. Since then it has been re-cased and fitted with: VIA M10000N, Insight P4-ITX and iBase MB 890 mother boards
Digital tuner cards from Hauppauge, Avermedia and Nebula, a Coolermaster heat-sink and various other attempts to keep it both cool and quiet. This web-site presents the project in, more or less, chronological order.
The current system is built into a home made fan-less case. It features:
A 120GB Western Digital HDD
Windows 2000 operating system
Terrestrial Digital TV recording using a Nebula DigiTV PCI and USB devices
A 20 character two line VF Display
Quantum Research touch switch power button.
