Regional Rules

Regional Officer's Roles and Responsibilities. Changes to these rules can be made at Regional Committee meetings or at an AGM.

President	· To act as a figurehead for the Region. · May take the chair at AGM/EGM
Vice Presidents	· Honorary position given to those who've served the Region or the Association over a number of years.
Chairman	· Shall be responsible for the day to day running of the Region. · Shall be a member of the Regional Management Committee. · Shall Chair all Regional Committee meetings · Shall be responsible for calling all Regional meetings, informing the Secretary of the date and ensuring all those who should be informed, are informed.
Vice Chairman	· Shall act as a deputy to the Chairman in his/her absence.
Secretary	· Shall be a member of the Regional Management Committee. · Shall be responsible for all mailing distributed to the Region. · Shall be responsible for informing the Region of any mail received from the Association. · Shall be responsible for the minutes of all Regional meetings.
Assistant Secretary	· Shall assist the secretary in all his/her duties as required.
Treasurer	· Shall be a member of the Regional Management Committee. · Shall be responsible for the Region's financial matters. · Shall produce accounts for the AGM · Shall organise collection of Regional affiliation fees.
Technical Officer	· Shall be a member of the Regional Management Committee. · Shall be responsible for all exams held in the Region · Shall be for maintaining good standards of training within the Region · Shall inform all Regional Instructors of Technical or procedural changes that may effect them. · Shall represent the Region on the National Technical commission
Deputy Technical Officer	· Shall Deputise in the absence of the Technical Officer

Gear Steward	· Shall be responsible for all equipment held by the Region · Shall report to the Regional Committee as to the serviceability of that equipment · Shall provide a report for the AGM
Council of Management (COM) representative	· Shall be a Director of the Association (and must be legally eligible for such a role). · Shall present the views of the Region to the COM. · Shall be willing to justify any decision made at COM meetings to the Region. · Due to the nature of this role the Representative may make decisions at COM meetings based on good business procedure and within the confidentiality of that role without consulting the Region.
Technical Commission Representative	· Shall represent the views of the Region at National Commission meetings. · Shall pass on any changes to exam structures or procedures.
Youth Development Commission Rep.	· Shall represent the views of the Region at National Commission meetings. · Shall be responsible for assisting all Regional clubs with their youth development programs. · Shall be responsible for promoting beach activities to all youth groups within the geographical bound of the Region. · Shall be responsible for organising all Nipper and Junior competitions (although not necessarily the running of those competitions).
Sports Commission Rep.	· Shall represent the views of the Region at National Commission meetings. · Shall be responsible for assisting all Regional clubs with their coaching programs. · Shall be responsible for promoting surf life saving sport within the geographical bound of the Region. · Shall be responsible for organising the Regional senior championships as well as the running of all surf life saving competitions held within the Region.
Powercraft Commission Rep.	· Shall represent the views of the Region at National Commission meetings. · Shall be responsible for the development of powercraft activities within the bounds of the Region
Disciplinary Panel Rep.	· Shall attend disciplinary panels called by the national body. · Shall act on that panel independently and without any personal or Regional prejudice.
Honours Committee Rep.	· Shall attend honours committee meetings called by the national body. · Shall act on that committee independently and without any personal or Regional prejudice.
