Surf Life Saving Wessex is a Region of the Surf Life Saving
Association of Great Britain
(SLSA of GB).
It was formed after the Southern Region was broken up into smaller Regions
at the start of 2000. The Region covers Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Avon and
the Isle of Wight. Most activity is currently based around the Bournemouth
area as this is where most of the active people are. This is also the most
central point of the Region with the furthest boundary around 100 miles away.
The Region is responsible for organising lifesaving exams and sport within
it's boundaries. Some courses are run, mainly for instructors and examiners
but if you need a course run, and you can come up with enough people to do it,
we will do our best to satisfy your requirements.
