Welcome To RomseyWeb

Romsey is a market town in the county of Hampshire in the UK. As you can see by the picture left the town has the Abbey as its focal point, it also has lots more history, King John's hunting lodge, Lord Palmerston's statue, The Cornmarket, but to name a few, But  the other focal point must be Broadlands, It was the home of  Lord Palmerston, then the late Lord Mountbatten who was killed in 1979, Royal connections go back years in Romsey, The Queen and Prince Phillip stayed at Broadlands, and Prince Charles & Lady Diana also stayed at Broadlands at the start of their marriage in 1981.

Woodley Post Office is Now Open

The Great Woodley Post Office re-opened back in  March. It is being run by  Angie Gritt.   Angie previously worked for 14 years in the main post office in Romsey.  The Post Office branch at Warren Gardens, closed last August following a routine audit. Residents have  had to drive, walk or catch the bus into the town centre to collect their pensions and carry out other transactions.  A campaign was started to reinstate the service at Warren Gardens, or move the post office to other premises in the Romsey area.

Romsey Bowling Club plays in the Memorial Park, Romsey.  Our Members enjoy playing in competitions and friendly games. Most  Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons we have friendly matches, some at home and some away. Amateur Radio

If you have ever been interested in radio and how it works, I have found a good site that shows a radio ham at work, you can not only watch him using the radio but hear the contacts he makes, I have been on the site many times and have decided to go for the foundation license myself, this will enable me to use proper ham radio's, but with a power limit of 10 watts, but don't let that put you off you will be surprised how far you will get with that, the operator also has a chat room so if he's not too busy he mite even answer some of your questions...don't be shy pop in and say hi....You will normally find him online between 10pm and Midnight....Oh his name is Andy  (M3ZPX)   click   to go to room
