Golf Croquet Rankings

As most of you will know, I started and have been operating the Golf Croquet ranking system since its inception around 2000. It has gradually grown to include results from virtually all countries where Golf Croquet is played with one major exception, Egypt. Although we have continually tried to get Egypt to participate, they have for some reason decided not to allow all their internal results to be included in the system and thus we cannot claim that the system is truly world wide. However as many Egyptian players have participated in major events outside Egypt, they do appear in what is termed the International Rankings and quite rightly take some very prominent places. We hope that sometime in the future, Egypt will participate fully and make the system truly worldwide.  

Unfortunately with the growth of the system, the workload in maintaining an up to date database is quite demanding. With my other commitments to croquet and personal matters, there have been several occasions where the updating of rankings has taken some weeks which has raised criticism from some players. Therefore when Stephen Mulliner offered to take over and run the system, I gratefully accepted. Stephen now informs me that he is ready to receive results.

I would therefore like to inform all who wish to participate in the system to be aware of the change of ‘management’.  Results from UK games should be continue to be sent to results@croquet.org.uk   as this automatically circulates to our web master, the CA Office and Gazette Editor. With immediate effect results from overseas games should be sent direct to Stephen at  mulliner@ruralinternet.co.uk  I would remind all those who submit results that the ideal format is chronological order of play.

May I thank all those who have cooperated with me in the past to make the system work and ask that you can work with Stephen in the future to maintain a credible ranking system.

The rankings have been displayed in the past on my own web site and linked to the CA site, however new arrangements will be made between Stephen and the CA Web Master for future displays. Until these arrangement are completed, my own site will remain online with the 6 Sept 07 update.
