During my sidecar racing career I was
sponsored by Formula and Sports Tyres (FAST).
This photo shows Darren Hardwick and myself with our
Lambretta sidecar outfit on the FAST tyres stand at
the Road Race show at Alexander Palace in London.
I met World Sidecar Champion Steve Webster that
weekend and was over the moon to get his autograph.
Steve had heard of "Scooter Racing" and was amazed at
the build quality of my outfit - I was dead chuffed!!

A side view of my outfit showing the front
wheel and brakes. The braking system was dual circuit
with the footpedal operating two calipers on the front
wheel (one either side), one on the sidecar wheel and
one on the rear. The fifth caliper is operated by an
AP Lockheed master cylinder and works the top caliper
on the front wheel. You can also see the radiator for
the water cooled TS1 engine plus the chain drive to
the 13" rear slick tyre.
