Mark is currently retired from competing in the British Motorcycling series.
Mark
became interested in motorcycling at a very early age. Just a baby,
he used to travel around the country to watch his Father (Mick Burr
- British Grass-track side-car Champion) race.
It
didn't take long for Mark to sit on a motorbike and he couldn't wait
until he was old enough to begin racing. His first race being on a Kawasaki
KX60 as a schoolboy Moto-crosser, aged 6. Mark progressed through various
levels of Moto-x entering at National Level.
Mark
then decided he would like to try his hand at Go-Karting, where he finished
2nd in the British Karting Championships.
Karting
gave Mark a taste of real speed and in 1996 (aged 16) he had his first
ride in the British Superteen Championships - this was the start of
his road racing career.
