Hints, Tips & Strategy

The purpose of this guide is to help buyers and sellers get the most from eBay auctions. I've been a trader on eBay for over 5 years, maintaining a 100% rating across hundreds of sales and purchases. Previous to that I successfully traded on the now long gone Yahoo auctions. Much of the info here is based on auction experience and common sense. Much of it may sound obvious but you'd be amazed at the things I see whilst buying and selling on eBay.

Successful strategies for buying and selling rely on a bidder being smarter than the other bidders and the seller being smarter than the other sellers. On the other hand, smart bidders do no favours for smart sellers who pray for careless and thoughtless bidders to drive their auction price up. Luckily for sellers, the later are more numerous than wildebeest in the Serengeti... and usually have a similar IQ..!!! Smart bidders constantly despair at the "day one" bidding wars that ruin any chance of buying anything at a bargain price. They prefer a last minute stand-off where a timely snipe will ensure that a bargain is well and truly bagged. If a bidder is indeed smart enough, they may even find a lone Wildebeest of the seller herd and pounce quietly on a bargain hidden in the undergrowth...

So Wildebeest, read on and learn...
