Betina Skovbro is a freelance photographer based in Cardiff.She has worked for the past five and half years as Senior Photographer on the South Wales Argus, in Newport, where her work was highly commended in the Observer Hodge Award. Before that she worked as a portrait photographer of children.

In December 2003, she embarked on a new career as a freelance photographer. However, her passion for photography can be traced back to her childhood, when she got her first camera. From then on, her love of the medium has developed continuously.

From her early years and endless school assignments in her native Denmark, to numerous placements on local papers, Betina has always taken photographs.

Her work reflects her interest in her favorite subject matter – people.
“Photographs can often reveal the real person, even when they try to conceal it! It can be a very honest medium, and I like to try and bring that out in my photography.”

Betina’s decision to set up her own business is a lifetime ambition realised. Her work covers a wide range of subject matter, from press and PR launches to news stories, documentary assignments, portraits and event photography.
