My wife, daughter and I spent a week exploring the North Yorkshire
Dales during June 2000, based at a small complex of self catering and
bed and breakfast cottages on a working sheep farm just a few miles
from Settle. There are three self contained holiday cottages
on the farm, and we stayed in The Stables, a superb conversion into
accommodation that is used both for self catering and bed and breakfast
guests

The welcome was warm and friendly, and the accommodation of the highest standard. Although being quite close to the town of Settle the farm cottages are well off the road with the holiday cottages having there own driveway, with ample parking, ideal for a quiet relaxing time.
There are pretty country walk right from the farm, and this is an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore the Dales, and the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough. And there is also the Settle to Carlisle railway line, very much worth the trip on a clear day - the views from the train are absolutely stunning.
Here are some photographs to whet your appetite.
