the loneliness of the long distance commuter
sit up straight. comfortable. practical.
be a man who knows where he's going. large briefcase.
be a man who needs lots of pens. filling seat next to him.
be a man who needs calls and messages. unfold broadsheet newspaper until carriage is full.

be a man who needs lots of news.
be a man who knows where he is going.
be a man who needs to know exactly where it is he is going.
be a man who is proud of the fact he's going to the city.
be a man who is proud of his job. with all his pens and his calls and messages.
and the knowledge of where it is he is going.

be a man who needs to forget he is lonely.

they haven't found her body yet.
i know that. yet there is no reason why i should be so sure. in fact, as far as anyone else is concerned, there is no body to be found.
maybe she wasn't real . or maybe she was already dead when i saw her that day. that would explain that look in her eyes.
but no. that cant be right. she was real, alright. i know it. like i know many things. things i have no business knowing.

well, thats the way it seems....

and so, they haven't found her body.

i know where it is. not that i've seen it. but i can tell you exactly where she is .she is collapsed in a dirty pile on the floor of a filthy, damp , stained public toilet floor. her eyes wide open, staring, her hair limp and wet ..... but still she's beautiful. just like she was when i saw her that day.
as soon as she walked onto the railway platform, i noticed her beauty. her skin is a pale, pale white. her long , straight hair is black.and her clothes...... a pastel pink rollneck sleeveless top , over a black vest.
i know this bcause i saw her put the pink top on.

it was getting cold.

i think it was one of the last days of summer.....
& nbsp; and her skirt... long and black, and down to her ankles.it was of a style that was very much out of fashion.
it was covered in small white dots...

i remember thinking at the time, how good she looked, considering the obvious cheapness of her clothes.
and she wasn't wearing much make up either.... maybe just a subtle shade of pink on her lips ....

but i didn't get much chance to look at her then......

before she went into the toilets.

and never came out.

they still haven't found her body _

lost it man.

Heres a story for you...
there's this guy at the place where I work, right, and I just couldn't figure him out. I mean, i've there for about just over a year now.. and this guy.. i've seen him around since i first started, but he just never seems to be doing anything, y'know? He's always just walking around, going somewhere and sometimes he comes from wherever it is he works and uses our photocopier, although i've never seen what it is he's actually copying.

Now, the place where I work is, well, it's a big place, and there are alot of people wandering around doing different jobs it's not unusual... but this one guy.. he's different.
He's quite tall, and skinny. Doesn't look too well if you ask me! Well anyway, he's got a kind of half hearted beard and slightly wild, though thin, hair. I mean, he looks like he's kinda lost it. But again, at our place that's not too unusual!
But seriously .. I got this weird feeling about him.

So just the other day I thought, sod it! I'll ask someone who he is. I guessed it would sound a bit daft, but hell., it was bugging me. So I asked my supervisor, Anthony. He's a cool guy, so I figured he wouldn't think me too weird...
So I asked him, who's that crazy 1ooking geezer who wanders round, and uses our photocopier from time to time?

He went kinda quiet for a moment, then nodded over to a corner… so we walk away from the busy area, he gave me a funny sorta half smile, and looked generally uncomfortable…
So I say, you alright? And he sighs and says yeah, fine.. but it's a bit delicate, I mean, y'know, don't say nothing to anyone
I nod, understanding, and he continues…

Well, no one really knows, to be honest... as far as I know he's never actually spoken to anyone here... He just turned up one day .. a few years back. I remember after a while someone went to ask him who he was, and he just kinda stopped what he was doing, stared into space, and only started crying.

I mean, I wasn't there, but I heard all about it later... I think people just leave him alone, and he goes about doing well, whatever it is he does. I suppose people figured he wasn't doing anyone any harm, so they've let him carry on doing .. whatever. I guess.
Oh.. right.. I says, say no more then Yeah .. ok, just pretend he's not there, ok? Ok. ..l agreed.
And that was that. Funny eh?

The Name that you won't Remember (1997)

Wanna be your hero, want to kiss you in the rain
But I can't bring myself to say
These things will never be easy
So I'll just look away and nothing will ever change

Name that you won't remember

There is no longer a way forward
So I'll just turn around and go back the way I came
And things will just stay the same
So I'll make my way towards the door
It's safe to say I'm not wanted anymore

Name that you won't remember

And later on I will think to myself
What am I trying to achieve?

Name that you won't remember

Want to be near you, want to whisper your name
But it can wait for another day
These things will never be easy
You'll always be a million miles away
Nothing is going to change

And maybe one day you'll need me and call me
The name that you won't remember
