samneric is benjamin_sanguine (Benjamin Whitaker)
and New Low (Duncan Ward).
Benjamin and Duncan have been making music and improvising together
since they met at university in 1997, but this group project was originally
formed in 2002 with Matty Windup (Matthew Douglas) to perform at the Klinker
in Dalston (25th July). Since that time samneric have released many CDR
albums (available here) of improvised, occasionally site-specific avant
garde music, including the 20 monthly editions of the Burnt Offerings
Series.
You can obtain any of the CDRs below from us, just send us an email
and we'll burn you copies. We can work out some kind of exhange system
to cover the postage etc.
Instrumention has included guitar and voices, keyboards and organs,
radio, turntables, tapes, ikthara, bodhran, various percussion, children's
toys, household objects, tools, water, a christmas tree, an entire kitchen,
church pews, a cemetery, a royal park...
Samneric have also developed their own unique instruments and sound-making
devices which include the Pringlophone and the Spindolin.

Burnt Offerings series (2004 -2005)
A monthly series of improvised music, generally drawn from a single
evening or day's recording at varying locations. Each CDR features original
sleeve drawing and photography.
In 2003 Samneric attempted a soundtrack to Fritz Lang's silent movie
masterpiece 'Metropolis', but due to technical difficulties this remains
unfinished.
