The site contains my own Gloucestershire BENDALL family tree (the core family) as well as a significant number of supplementary trees and branches, all related and accessed through this family tree. Also within the site are a series of pages which give further information about the core family (these pages were prepared from Personal Ancestral File, the genealogy program available from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.)
The core Family Tree is an extended version of that published by me in 1995, in a book called The Gloucestershire BENDALLs, Volume 1: From the Cam to the Mersey, while the supplementary trees and branches are based on those published by me in 1996, in The Gloucestershire BENDALLs, Volume 2: From the Avon to the Wye. (N.B. Some corrections and changes have been made to the original published data.)
In 1995 the core family tree covered the period back to about 1570. In its new extended form it includes the results of research into Manor Court Rolls, see The Gloucestershire BENDALLs, Volume 2A: The Manor of Cam published by me in 2001, and it covers the period back to about 1495. All the work is centred upon the village of Cam in Gloucestershire.
Researchers are welcome to comment and correct the data published on this website and to submit queries about other Gloucestershire records relating to the family name of BENDALL.
The site now includes the vast majority of the data about the BENDALLs of Gloucestershire gathered during research into the family and name, from the earliest years up to about 1837 (when civil registration of births, marriages and deaths was introduced in England and Wales). Future growth of the site will be determined largely by the addition of information from other family historians.
