"The Dome" is on what remains of Cockthorpe airfield which is just outside Stiffkey on the North Norfolk coast. Aircraft such as the Mosquito flew from Cockthorpe during the WW2. The airfield is now owned by Bernard Matthews ["the turkey man"] and he is contributing to the restoration of the Dome.
What is it? - it was used to train RAF navigators by projecting star patterns on its inner roof thereby allowing them to practice "fixing" the position of the aircraft.
