THE BELLRINGERS' WINDOW

The Ringers' Window, once thought lost.
This image is taken from the glass slide found by Cliff Gould and Janet Grove in the WAHS archives.

Highbridge Street destroyed by the V2 rocket.
The shockwave would have been funnelled along the street - straight towards the Ringers' Window.

The north face of the Abbey Church, taken from about where the parachute mine landed.
Note that the lower western facade was shielded from the blast by the vicarage, but the north-facing windows were right in the line of fire.

The western face of the Abbey Church today.
The first-floor window, which is where the Ringers' Window would have been, is now filled with clear glass.
