Who are we -
Have you ever wanted to tie fishing flies? Well now is your chance; just come along to our Club and we will help you get started. We meet on Thursday evenings at the Milngavie Library throughout the winter from 7pm until 10 pm.
Our members range from outright beginners to qualified (APGAI)experts. Our Thursday evening programme provides the opportunity to learn fly tying in a relaxed and friendly environment. Juniors over the age of 12 are most welcome. Our winter programme covers a wide range of flies and techniques as well as evenings when we simply tie flies of our own choice.
Fly tying for all levels of ability.
Alberto Laidlaw and Kenny Sichi are our most experienced members and over the winter they provide entertaining demonstrations of fly tying and discuss the various techniques required. We also invite recognised fly tying and game angling experts to give demonstrations and presentations of various fly tying techniques. The flys we tie include dry flies, wet flies, trout lures, salmon flies and pike flies.
What do we do -
Simply come along on a Thursday evening or contact us for details. We don't charge an annual fee but we do collect £3 each evening you attend. Directions to Milngavie Library can be found here (map ).
