The Anchor Boys are the youngest section of the BB starting at 5½ and can be members for up to two years before moving into the Junior Section when they become 8.

The Anchor Boys meet once a week on a Friday night from 6.15pm to 7.30pm. The OIC (Officer in Charge) of the Anchor Boy Section is Nicola Roche. The other leaders or Jeanette Duggan, Geraldine Cunningham and Matthew Duggan.

Each week the Boys learn basic drill, hear a bible story, complete a craft activity to take home to their families and learn to play new games. The games played encourage team work, improve co-ordination and help them let off steam!

Anchor Boys do simple cooking, work with clay and paint and learn how to tidy up a little! In the summertime they have outdoor sports games and a Christmas party at the end of the Autumn term

Boys can gain green, red and blue Anchor Boy activity badges during their time in the Section. As boys progress through the Company they can wear it on the junior armband and the company section left armband along with the service badge and the gold badge.

Anchor Boy Activity Badges

Some of our Anchor boys go on and become our longest serving and best boys. Our last Queens Man was an anchor boy himself many years ago. Although they are the youngest members they are very important. Anchor Boys learn to follow instructions and gain confidence playing team games. There are currently about 15 small Boys having a super time each week!
