Track meetings: We are now having regular track meetings on the Sunday after the club meeting from about 10 am. We have a loco on long term loan for use as a club loco, a sort of stretched Simplex 2-6-0, so evryone can run on the track while still building their own or just to see what the fun is all about. We now also have an electric loco, 0-6-0 Class 08 style, to provide a quick start and easy running at the exhibition. Note: if it has been wet park around the edge of the site as it gets slippy in the middle.

After the winter's accumulation of leaves the station was almost back to the state we found it in last year. Compare this to the picture below to see how much progress was made in a few hours. March 2002

A nice view of the station, clear of leaves, just waiting for a train.

The Society has a 'new' tracksite about 800ft long, twice the length of the old track, and caters for 5 inch and 3 1/2 inch, raised track, with tunnel.
For security we will not be publishing details on the web. We do not do public running so there is no need to publicise the location, however we do sometimes invite friends and coleagues. If you need directions contact a Committee member and make sure you get clear directions for the last hundred yards, as there are two similar paths and I spent an hour looking down the wrong one the first time I went.

In mid June 2001 it was still a bit hard to see the track beneath 5 years of weeds, but this was a relatively clear bit. Overgrowth of laurels had put the station into a virtual tunnel, but mid way through the second workday the sun came through. June 2001

Note there are no mod cons on site. The parking paddock is usable now, unless you have a low slung sports car, but watch out for the occasional deeper rut.
