Track meetings: We are now having regular track meetings on the Sunday after the club meeting from about 10 am. We have a loco on long term loan for use as a club loco, a sort of stretched Simplex 2-6-0, and an electric loco, 0-6-0 Class 08 style . The pictures below are not intended to be "loco plus owner" so are just mixed up. Most of the actual owners are kind enough to let others drive them - thanks to all those who have extended this opportunity to me in the past. generally people get to know the track by driing the electric loco first and can then progress to the club steam loco with some instruction from a more experienced driver. There is NO public running and visitors are restricted to relatives and close friends by invitation only.

Club members who can lend a hand cutting the grass on typically Thursdays are welcome. Contact Malcolm or Den - phone number on the gazette inside front cover.

tunnelA view of the station with the tunnel in the distance. The water tower is at the far end so the loco blowing off steam might be getting worried. chimeraThis is the club loco (on loan) which is a stretched Simplex.
meOne of the hazzards of  small steam engines. The drivers of the big ones never had this problem.electricThe club Electric loco is a Class 08 from Compas House. Running on 2x12v car batteries so far we have not been able to run it out of juice.
full stationA busy station. When someone stops for water or for lack of fire then the rest fill up the station behind.denAnother Simplex, but with a few slight changes.
farsidethe far side of the track is a bit higher thatn the station.earThe big stuff. This East African Railways loco is 5" guage but as big as a 7&1/4 loco. With the help of a special hydraulic ramp David can load this single handed.
tonyThis man keeps popping up everywhere. Or is it his brother. manorA fine Manor runs through the lowest part of the track at the level crossing. Make sure your footrests are not too low.
what?I will add better descriptions of the locos when i can read the obscurely formatted file with the informationpodSweet Pea "Alice" takes to the rails with a brand new certificate after a few years in retirement.
pansyThis Pansy was built by the late Bert Cook and is back on the track it probably first steamed on under new ownership, after spending a few happy years with Bill H. Steaming very smoothly and with a lovely exhaust note it is a plesure to drive. Most of the pictures on this page were taken by the Gazette Editor, Roger. Though the one of him must have been a neat trick to do!

For security we will not be publishing details on the web.  If you need directions contact a Committee member and make sure you get clear directions for the last hundred yards, as there are two similar paths. Note there are no mod cons on site.
