The new Star Baby yacht design by Vic Smeed gets its very first outing.
More details appeared in the Society Gazette with these pictures by Tony. Celebrated model boat expert Vic Smeed designed the boat some 40 years ago as a concept for beginners to build, sail and compete with, within its own class. He was also present on the lake on April 1 when the prototype made its maiden voyage. The design derives from his Starlet class but is slightly smaller. The first one was built by an old friend of Vic's, Vic Driscoll of the StAlbans Society. " she was easy to build, easier than Panache. In the water she turns on a tanner and is nice and stable"
