A trip to Bramhall on Sunday against
Queensgate, didn't give us the results we wanted, however it did give
us some areas of development we need to continue to concentrate our
training on, but also highlighted the KEY features of EFFORT and TEAM
SPIRIT.
We were well aware that Queensgate were going to play a definite A and B team set up, but as I previously stated we continued with playing two teams mixing players of differing experience.
The first game highlighted the effort and team spirit mentioned when after a close first half Queensgate got on top and pulled away with a good 2nd half performance. However all the players maintained 100% effort throughout the game and although a disappointing result it was pleasing to see the team walk of with smiles. Although I'm sure through gritted teeth!! One particular performance well worthy of note was that of Macauley, in goal for only his 2nd match, who performed very well indeed.
The second match was totally dominated by Hazel Grove with Jo, George B and Greg peppering the Queensgate goal, but as is the way in football Queensgate's only major attack resulted in a goal which Grove couldn't reply to before the final whistle.
We will continue to mix the line ups for this first year to develop the team as a whole, ensuring all the players share the differing experiences offered up by football, aiding them to grow as individuals, creating a good team spirit and with their continued 100% effort, building a solid team for the future.
Next match at home vs Great Moor Nov 2nd
