The Club was founded in 1975 and from small beginnings have made our way to become both a well known and respected Club throughout the North of England, and in UK Athletics as a whole.
As a Club it has several Full Great Britain Internationals and English Schools' international athletes in its ranks. In the same way Cleethorpes & District Athletic Club has achieved outstanding success as a team in its history. The Men's team are in the North of England League and are former champions not so many years back, which included such celebrated teams as Gateshead AC. The Ladies compete in the Northern Women's League. Our Under 17's / Under 20's men and Ladies compete in the National Junior league, and our Under 13's through to Under 17's boys and girls compete in the Young Athletes League. The cross-country teams, both male and female compete in the Lincolnshire League and The North Midland League with equal success. The Road Runners are represented in National events especially in Road Relays. Look closely and you will always spot a Cleethorpes vest in the London Marathon.
The Club operates an open policy which welcomes all new members regardless of race, ability or gender.
Cleethorpes & District Athletic Club is affiliated to UK Athletics, AAA of England, North of England AA and Humberside AA.
