If you have anything to discuss, errors to note etc.,
with the scorer - then please shout
hey been ages since I scored this .. so be prepared for mistakes ..
December 04 Thanks all - scoring was much easier ..
Apparently the final piece of the puzzle to last week is to simply disqualify Das and Ethel for playing less than 18 boards
.. really just means no Master Points .. it was an Individual evening .. so it still makes no difference ..
also it sounds like Director and/or Scorer can apply arbitrary fines .. which is why there is v little written about the subject ..
PLEASE NOTE THE CHAIRMANS WARNING : Poor scoring by NS means in future they get a Bottom.
November 27 Individual
Wednesday: a slightly more generous re-scoring .. though still not without its problems!
If you study the two different results you'll notice they are quite different, caused by miscoring the
effect of Ethel unfortunately having to retire at the half way point. The unplayed boards have now been
deleted as if it was a ghost - rather than as AVerages. Significant effect on Master Points!
First guess at the fines are probably a little high.
Scorebridge help file suggested fines of 4 or 8 on a board played 9 times as an example.
Unable to find any authorative source on this.
November 27 Individual - First attempt
And I thought last week was tricky .. All complaints to Director/Scorer
Bd 20 was fouled by the winners!!! 12-14 card split ..
and not noticed on next round till end play .. Fines of -10 and -5 have been applied ..
The scoring is late while I researched this problem .. couldn't find a resolution .. more tomorrow .. maybe
other cases of no score on travellers .. or apparently wrong pair numbers have also been AV- (Average minus)
November 20
The scorer
has now made best guess at pairs 13,14, and 17 based on info received.
The traveller for board 26 would also be useful ;)
Sep 27 Club Evening apologies - no name translation available for JWL - please inform me
Congratulations to our newcomer - Roger Evans - a good result
Oct 4 Pairs Competition
Congratulations to Irene Greig - for coming top two weeks running & with different partners !
Oct 11 Individual Competition - RESCORE #2
Hi Folks, This scoring is STILL not finalised.
Especially as some pairs didn't know about names on back of travellers.
The movement file used was wrong on the first cut, has now been aligned with travellers ignoring only
the most obvious pair number errors.
CORRECTED AGAIN - SUNDAY - After printing and rechecking travellers there was still one wrong - bd 21
pairs 13 and 15 still reversed. RESCORE #1 for comparison - big swing.
Board 23 has been scored FLAT - either 3N or 5C =
5C+1 ? making 11 tricks for 620 has been flattened out - appeals welcome.
