2003 was an unusual year. A long running contract finished in January, at a time when the whole IT market was very slow. [someone started a pointless war]. That, combined with a Jury Service in mid year that lasted over 6 weeks and long summer holidays, and then a parent to look after - it seemed sensible at the time to try out retirement and play a lot of Bridge.
