OEPT Rules
This section is devoted to my versions of the original OEPT rules published way back in 1975. This game was the second ever RPG published, the first one that had a detailed campaign setting to go with the rules set and the first to make a decisive break with the Tolkeinesque palaver that still underlays many modern RPGs.

This ruleset is very sketchy in many places, utterly unrealistic in terms of its simulation of a real or even an unreal world, but it worked. It  is quick, fun and brutal and deserves a bit of a revival.

The best thing about it is of course that it does not take much effort to make up your own version, something that is drawing some people back to the OD&D and away from the over-complex rules lawyer dominated palaver that is d20.

For a quick run down of the essential OEPT rules see Greentongue's page.
